The American news reporting and opinion website, the Daily Beast just published a superb article on Actun Tunichil Muknal (ATM Cave) – Belize’s most famous cave. The article entitled “The Cave Where Mayans Sacrified Humans Is Open for Visitors” is currently being featured as a great escape on the The Daily Beast website.

It’s a journey even Indiana Jones would have to brace himself for: an hour-long rainforest hike, a swim across an ice-cold stream into the narrow mouth of a cave, and then a slippery descent into the dark, cavernous depths where bats, spiders, and ancient scorpion-like amblypygi lurk in the nooks.
