Belize Island Escape
Belize has about 386 km of coastline and a profusion of cayes and islands can be found along its coast. These islands and cayes are part of the Belize Barrier Reef System which is the second largest in the world. Note: The reef has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996.
Many travelers on their Belize vacation escape to one of these islands for a day of diving, snorkeling or relaxation. Laughing Bird Caye is one of our favorite island escape from Placencia and is a perfect destination to dive or snorkel.

Belize Culture
Belize is the ultimate melting pot of cultures including Creole, Mayan, Garifuna, Spanish, British, Chinese and American.
Because the country is so ethnically diverse, it enjoys racial harmony as well as religious tolerance and has developed a reputation for being welcoming and friendly to travelers.
In addition, the official language of Belize is English making it easy for travelers to get around.
Ease of Travel
Belize is relatively easy to get around because of its size.
You can be hiking a Maya city in the morning and in the afternoon you can be on the beach relaxing or taking a drink.
Tropic Air for example, can fly you from San Ignacio Town (inland Belize) to Placencia (southern Belize) in less than 2 hours.
