2026 Beach Weddings in Belize: Tropical Bliss for Your Dream Ceremony

Beachfront Weddings in Belize

Get Married in Belize

Belize beachfront weddings are extraordinary and so affordable, you may not believe your eyes when you see how much you can afford on your budget.

One wedding blogger called destination weddings “one of the best ideas since Steve Jobs invented the iPhone”! If you’re skeptical about her comment, try running around getting quotes for reception venues, elaborate formal wear and enough flowers to fill a cathedral and you’ll find plenty of reasons to rethink your skepticism.

Impressive numbers of destination weddings are held on Belize beaches year-round, so pick the month that fits your schedule. What couple wouldn’t want to walk barefoot through sand, carrying freshly-picked tropical flowers, as breezes caress their cheeks? But there’s just as much practicality as there is romance when couples decide to take their vows on a Belize beach:

-Destination weddings dramatically reduce the tension during one of the most stressful occasions on the planet. By the time the big day arrives, nerves are as shredded as budgets, but if you work with a wedding planner at a lush venue like Chabil Mar, you will likely stay calm enough to enjoy every minute of the planning and the big day.

-A few years ago, destination weddings represented only 5-percent of the entire wedding market. That number is now 25-percent. The reason? Traditional wedding costs are around $30,000, writes Business Insider journalist Sarah Jacobs. A “destination wedding in Belize can cost you as little as $2,000,” say researchers at Caribya!

Chabil Mar’s all inclusive wedding package saves even more money. Couples enjoy an elegant suite, wed on the resort’s pier or beach, bouquets and boutonnières are included, and your host helps you handle all of the legal paperwork. Champagne, wedding cake and other impressive benefits are included.

-You don’t have to invite everyone on the planet if you choose a destination wedding in Belize, but the people who want to be there can fly to your wedding in just a couple of hours. Chabil Mar hosts are happy to house all of your guests and if the number of attendees is big enough, your party may qualify for reduced rates.

-Wear what you like. You will save so much money on your wedding, you can afford the attire you dreamed of but discounted as soon as you browsed price tags! Throw a reception that’s both gorgeous and memorable with all of the champagne your guests deserve for being on hand for this important occasion.

Whether your master plan is to stay sequestered in your beautiful villa or you intend to book every tour on the Chabil Mar menu, you will return home and tell your friends, “I hoped things would be perfect, but to be honest, it was more than perfect. It was unforgettable!”

Celebrate November in Belize: Garifuna Culture, Thanksgiving, and More

November is a beautiful time to visit Belize, a month when the country begins to bloom with a festive spirit, thanks to major cultural celebrations and the start of the high season for travelers. As the weather shifts to drier days, November opens up new possibilities for exploring Belize’s natural beauty, rich cultural heritage, and stunning beaches. For anyone considering a trip during this season, November in Belize promises a warm welcome and a memorable experience.

November Weather in Belize: Mild Days and Comfortable Nights

Best Time To Visit Belize

November marks the end of the rainy season in Belize, transitioning into drier and more comfortable weather. With daytime temperatures hovering between 75°F and 85°F, and cooler, pleasant evenings, it’s an ideal time to explore everything Belize has to offer. The rainfall decreases significantly, making it easier to enjoy outdoor activities such as snorkeling, hiking, and visiting Maya sites without interruptions.

In addition to the milder temperatures, the sea is still warm and inviting, perfect for water activities along the Belize Barrier Reef. Whether you’re diving in the turquoise waters or lounging on the beach, the weather in November makes it a fantastic month to experience Belize’s stunning coastline. This combination of warm sun, gentle breezes, and fewer rainy days creates an ideal environment for travelers to explore Belize’s jungles, beaches, and cultural sites.

Celebrate Garifuna Settlement Day and Thanksgiving in Placencia

 Belize November celebrations

One of the most compelling reasons to visit Belize in November is the chance to experience Garifuna Settlement Day on November 19th. This national holiday celebrates the arrival of the Garifuna people to Belize, and it’s an event filled with music, dance, and vibrant cultural displays. Placencia, a coastal village with a thriving Garifuna community, is one of the best places to experience this celebration. The festivities begin with a reenactment of the Garifuna’s arrival by canoe, followed by lively drum performances, traditional dances, and storytelling that provides visitors with a rich understanding of Garifuna heritage.

In Placencia, the community opens its arms to travelers who want to immerse themselves in this cultural event. The sounds of Garifuna drumming fill the air, and the energy of the celebration is contagious. This festival is a beautiful reminder of Belize’s cultural diversity and an opportunity for visitors to join in the joy of this vibrant tradition.

In addition to Garifuna Settlement Day, November is also a wonderful time to celebrate Thanksgiving in Belize. For American visitors, Thanksgiving in Placencia offers a unique twist on a traditional holiday. Many resorts and restaurants, including Chabil Mar, offer special Thanksgiving dinners, often incorporating fresh local ingredients such as seafood, tropical fruits, and Belizean spices. Sharing a Thanksgiving meal in a beachside setting allows you to celebrate in a relaxed atmosphere, creating unforgettable memories with family and friends.

Places to Visit and Things to Do in November

things to do in Belize November

November is an ideal time to visit some of Belize’s top attractions, from Maya temples to pristine islands. Xunantunich and Cahal Pech, two of the country’s most iconic archaeological sites, offer a glimpse into ancient Maya civilization, with fewer tourists than during the peak winter months. The cooler temperatures also make hiking and exploring these sites more enjoyable, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the history and culture of the Maya people.

 Best Time To Visit Belize

For nature enthusiasts, November is a great time to explore Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary, the world’s first jaguar reserve. With the rain tapering off, the trails become more accessible, offering visitors a chance to spot exotic birds, howler monkeys, and—if you’re lucky—a glimpse of a jaguar. The sanctuary is a paradise for hiking and bird-watching, and it’s close enough to Placencia that you can easily visit for a day trip.

The beaches and cayes of Belize are equally inviting in November. With fewer crowds, you can enjoy the beauty of Laughing Bird Caye and Silk Caye in peaceful solitude. These small islands, surrounded by the Belize Barrier Reef, are perfect for snorkeling and diving, where you’ll encounter an array of colorful coral, tropical fish, and perhaps even a friendly sea turtle. The calm and clear waters of November enhance visibility, making it a prime time for underwater exploration.

Celebrate Garifuna Settlement Day in Belize

Garifuna Settlement Day in Belize

Nearly four centuries ago, the British Empire began the practice of taking slaves from Africa and putting them to work at plantation laborers in the Caribbean. As time went on, these people began to intermarry with the local Arawak and Carib peoples, blending cultural and linguistic traditions to create the Garifuna people. After standing up to Britain, the Garifuna were chased throughout the Caribbean, ultimately finding a safe haven on the shores of Belize, Honduras, Guatemala and Nicaragua. The Garifuna discovery of Belize happened on November 19, 1802 and is regarded as a national holiday, Garifuna Settlement Day.

Why Garifuna Settlement Day is So Special

Anyone who happens to be in Hopkins, Seine Bight, Placencia or Dangriga knows just how uniquely the Garifuna have contributed to, and improved, Belizean society. Garifuna culture is about storytelling, drums, dances and the preservation of trades pursuits like farming and fishing.

November 19 is when the whole country show up to commend these people for making it to Belize over two centuries ago. It is on this day that many exhibitions of Garifuna music and dance styles are held, street dances are a common occurrence when people are not enjoying plates of cassava bread and hudut (fish that has been cooked in coconut) or listening to village elders’ tales of the Garifuna culture.

Where Is The Best Place to Enjoy Garifuna Settlement Day?

While it is a national holiday, the best places to experience it would be places rich with Garifuna people, like the four settlements mentioned earlier and also Punta Gorda Town in Toledo.

That being said, Dangriga has a special, historical tradition to witness on this day. At the crack of dawn, traditional dugout canoes, packed with locals dressed in traditional Garifuna attire, re-enact the Garifuna people’s arrival on the Belizean shores. After all the re-enactors ground their canoes, the celebration continues with drums, dances, music and lots and lots of food. Dangriga is also a great spot to witness “Jankunu” dancers, clad in elaborate masks and clacking bands of sea shells, listening to the sounds of drums and following through with leaps and terpsichorean motions.

Ever Heard of “Bleisure” Travel? It’s Better in Belize!

Bleisure travel in Belize

Even if you consider yourself a savvy traveler who has navigated domestic and foreign travel for business and/or pleasure, you may still never have heard the term “bleisure travel.” The expression has yet to wind up in dictionaries, but it will get there. Bleisure is one of the hottest “new” travel trends—despite the fact that most people have been doing it all along: A bleisure trip pairs “business” and “leisure,” and the time has come to formally acknowledge its popularity—especially if you decide to take your first official bleisure experience in Belize!

6 Reasons Belize is Bleisure Heaven

1.Despite meteoric changes in travel behaviors, goals, and styles, one dynamic remains a constant: Nobody wants to waste time getting to and from destinations. Because Belize flights take only a couple of hours from southern U.S. ports, getting on with the business at hand in a few hours and having zero jet lag are priceless perks.

2. You control your itinerary. Having made advance provisions for blocking out time needed to undertake business responsibilities, wrap your free time around those obligations so work tasks meet every deadline before you’re off to have fun. Since Belize is easily navigable and only the size of Vermont, you could easily see more sites and attractions during downtime than you would in a larger country.

3. Belize time coincides with North America’s Central Time Zone, so no need to wake anyone up to get a decision related to the work you’re doing during your bleisure getaway. Everyone in Belize speaks English, the exchange rate remains stable at $1USD to $2BZD, and if you want to use U.S. currency, plenty of places happily accept it.

4. You can bring your family. Belize is kid friendly for reasons that include an abundance of wildlife and kid-related experiences that run the gamut from caving and ziplining to the best aquatic sporting experiences in Central America. Sojourn at Chabil Mar Resort on the Placencia peninsula where there are so many onsite activities, writing corporate reports in silence won’t be an issue because family members won’t run out of fun things to do while you’re “working.”

Belize Bleisure Vacations
5. Expect to find that you slow down (even if you didn’t mean to). A nation filled with friendly people, a mellow vibe, and idyllic weather is likely to impact the way you feel, move, and operate. The more you relax, the more productive you will be, say scientists exploring the relationship between recreation and work efficiency, thus Belize’s tempo could contribute mightily to the quality of work you produce.

Belize Vacations
6. The number of cultural experiences found in Belize is impressive, as evidenced by Chabil Mar’s tour menu where everything visitors crave can be found, and selecting a Belize vacation package means no decision-making when it comes to accommodations, meals, tours and onsite amenities. Scroll down that page and you may even find a deal! Business + Pleasure + Savings? Does it get any better? Why would you stay home if you’re well positioned to adopt a bleisure lifestyle?
