Yesterday Southwest Airlines announced via a press release that starting October 2015, it will begin nonstop service out of Houston’s Hobby airport to Belize.
According to the press release, the airline has filed applications to begin service to six new destinations, four in Mexico and two in Central America: Belize and Costa Rica.

“This is great news for the travel industry in Belize,” says Larry France, Marketing Manager of Chabil Mar, a guest exclusive resort in Placencia Belize who believes that this new service is expected to play a major role in driving ticket prices to Belize.
A release from the Belize Tourism Board calls it a “game-changer.”
