Testimonials – Our Guests Love Us!

Chabil Mar truly believes that customer satisfaction is our number one priority. The resort has a 98% rating on TripAdvisor (out of 716 reviews and counting). Here are just a few of Chabil Mar’s latest reviews:

Pictures do not do this property justice. It’s covered with beautiful flowers and super close to the water. The staff are extremely friendly and go above/beyond to make your stay comfortable and memorable. We used the complimentary kayaks to chase dolphins and the in-room washer/dryer to clean our clothes before flying home.

Wonderful, romantic, relaxing vacation. Our villa was large, comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. The grounds are beautiful, we loved the beach and the pier. The staff was very attentive and kind. We will be back!

It was our first visit to Belize, and we will never stay anywhere else because Chabil Mar is perfect. This resort exceeded all of our expectations from immaculate, beautiful villas to al fresco dining anywhere on the flower and vine filled grounds, this is where you want to be for the ultimate in relaxation. But what we loved maybe the most was the staff starting with Chris, the GM. Everyone is so engaging, friendly, efficient, knowledgeable and funny! To everyone at Chabil Mar, we will be back to celebrate our 1 year anniversary with you!

We stayed at Chabil Mar for 6 days and couldn’t have been happier with the accommodations. The villas are all extremely clean, updated, comfortable, and stocked with everything you need (coffee maker, blender, food processor, juicer, mixer, etc). The rooms are spacious and housekeeping does an incredible job sneaking in after you’ve left for the day to make everything nice again (even washing dishes and loading/unloading the dishwasher). The staff are all genuinely friendly and personable and the grounds are well maintained. There are beautiful bright colored flowers all over the place, climbing up the balconies, and lizards and iguanas hanging around for some good entertainment. Our villa had a hammock on the patio as well as chairs and a table to enjoy the gorgeous ocean breeze. Sheldon and Nikita at the front desk were amazing- helping us with reservations for dinner, taxis, and excursions each day. Highly, highly recommend Chabil Mar for a place to stay that doesn’t feel like a big resort but comes with all the creature comforts of one!

Simone Biles’ Trending Online Vacation Photos Have Belize All Atwitter!

simone biles belize vacation

Who wouldn’t want to run into a Simone Biles while on vacation to escape the Covid virus? The Olympic gold medalist is a role model and a celebrity, so when she decides to take a vacation – especially in the company of her hot NFL player boyfriend Jonathan Owens – the media can’t get enough.

Why does Simone choose Belize when she has enough influence and money to go anywhere in the world? It’s no mystery. Her mom is Belizean, and as a result, Simone is a citizen of the country, a point of pride that follows her everywhere she travels.

The online stir recently created by her most recent Belize escape has lots to do with the pictures she has posted of herself and her main squeeze enjoying all of the beauty and recreational perks Belize has to offer. The photos include plenty of selfies reflecting the nation’s lush landscape, and when asked by the press to sum up her feelings for Owens, she enthused, “I love you more than I love Belize and that’s a lot!”

Will you run into Simone and Owens by vacationing in Belize? You could. She won’t be wearing her 30 gold medals because after all, the girl wants to relax given the 4 million followers who love to learn every detail of the gymnast’s professional and personal life. But she could be sporting the key to the City of San Pedro given to her by San Pedro’s Minister of Tourism in 2019.

Where to stay to conduct your Simone watch? Chabil Mar Villas, located on the Placencia peninsula. Why recommend this award-winning property? Because just in case you don’t catch a glimpse of Simone during your stay, you’ll still return home saying, “Best vacation ever!”

Belize: An Eco-friendly Destination You Should Visit This Year

belize ecotourism

Despite living in a society where everything seems replaceable, Earth will never belong in that category! Fortunately, society is feeling more responsible for polluted oceans, bad air quality and endangered species, so it’s no shock that eco-tourism has become a hot trend that shows no sign of dissipating any time soon.

Would it surprise you to learn that one of the smallest Central American nations has proven to be a beacon of light in terms of protecting the earth’s natural treasures? Belize’s eco-friendly tourism efforts are fast becoming models for the world, proving that even small nations can lead a big movement.

Not sure what it means to be an eco-friendly destination? Consider these admirable contributions to the Earth’s health and welfare, each one a shining example of Belize’s commitment to protecting its natural resources:

-Belize is home to a wealth of eco-tours that educate visitors. Tourists can check out wildlife refuges and sanctuaries, horseback ride and zip line over jungle canopies, hike waterfalls and get to know the nation’s critters, from jaguars and Howler monkeys to manatees, birds and iguanas during their Belize vacation.

-Since nearly three-quarters of Belize is covered by forest, creatures enjoy secure homes within these vast green expanses, and because there are 900 ancient Maya ruins in Belize – many of them tucked into jungles and forests – visitors learn more about the nation’s first societies, too.

-The Belize government sets a shining example for the world. In 2018, off-shore drilling was halted. Plastic was banned in 2019 and one of the most aggressive Covid precautionary codes for resorts and attractions was launched to keep tourists safe despite the pandemic.

-The biggest accomplishment of all? Helping remove the Belize Barrier Reef from UNESCO’s endangered list. Is it any wonder National Geographic uses Belize as a prime example of a nation dedicated to Mother Earth?

Escape the Winter Doldrums with a Belize Vacation

Right now, winter is wreaking its wrath all across the United States and Canada. But there is one place where the sun is shining and the weather is perfect for T-shirts and sandals. Best of all, it’s just a short flight away from major cities across North America. That magical destination is the country of Belize.

In Belize, it never snows. In fact, the “winter” months in Belize are when the weather is at its finest. Refreshing trade breezes combine with long, sunny days for perfect weather to enjoy outdoor activities like snorkeling, scuba diving, sailing, or hiking.

Belize may be a small country, but it has everything you need to enjoy an amazing vacation: beaches, offshore islands, lush rainforests, thick jungles teeming with wildlife, waterfalls, and lots of exotic animals, birds, and plants. No matter where you go, you’ll discover just why Belize is nicknamed “The Jewel.”

For many people, all that’s needed is a quick visit to Google Flights or their favorite travel website, plug in the Belize airport code (BZE), and find a great price on a flight to this lovely Caribbean paradise. Depending on where you live, round-trip tickets can be as low as $300.

Once you’ve got your ticket, all you’ll need is a valid passport, a pair of flip-flops, a few pairs of shorts and T-shirts, a beach towel, swimsuit, and your suntan lotion. And it’s all just 2-3 hours’ flying time away!

The Placencia Peninsula

The best place to escape the winter doldrums is the Placencia Peninsula in southeastern Belize. Located on the Caribbean coast, Placencia is called “The Island You Can Drive To” because of it’s laid-back charm, gorgeous beaches, and narrow isthmus connecting it to the mainland. In fact, Placencia stretches for more than 16 miles from north to south but is just half a mile wide.

One of the finest luxury resorts in Belize is located in Placencia, the fabulous Chabil Mar, which means “Beautiful Sea” in the local Maya dialect. Chabil Mar is a multiple award-winning resort and a perennial TripAdvisor favorite due to its lovely villas, freshwater infinity swimming pools, tropical garden, and a gourmet restaurant. Chabil Mar also has a lovely seafront pier that’s perfect for al fresco dining.

Chabil Mar specializes in creating all-inclusive Belize vacation packages that include all the best that the beach and jungle have to offer. If you’re ready to take a break from shoveling snow, book your vacation with Chabil Mar today.

Escape the Wrath of Winter in Sunny Belize

Instead of shivering through another long, gray winter, why not escape to the sunny climes of beautiful Belize? Just a short flight from the United States and Canada, Belize is a tropical oasis replete with golden sand beaches, swaying palm trees, offshore islands, and thick jungles where exotic animals and birds thrive.

And one of the finest places to visit in Belize is the Placencia Peninsula. Measuring 16 miles north to south but just half a mile wide, Placencia is widely believed to have the most beautiful beaches in a country with hundreds of miles of Caribbean coastline.

Here are just some of the fun things to do and see this winter in Placencia:

The End of the World Marathon

End of the world marathon

Initially held as a comic response to the “end of the world” allegedly predicted by the ancient Maya to occur on December 21, 2012, the End of the World Marathon is now one of Placencia’s most popular sporting events. Every December, runners from around the world gather to run a full or half marathon along the beach as thousands of people cheer them on to victory.

The Placencia Sidewalk Festival

Placencia owns a unique spot in the Guinness Book of World Records for having the smallest “main street” on the planet, actually a four-foot wide pedestrian-only sidewalk lined with colorful murals and boutique shops and cafes. Every February, the sidewalk is transformed into a lively arts festival where local artisans, musicians, cooks, and artists showcase their talents.

Adventure Tours

Placencia is close to many of the top adventure attractions in the country, including hiking the Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary (home to hundreds of jaguars), taking boat tours on the aptly named Monkey River, and visiting the nearby Laughing Bird Caye national marine park.

Diving the Blue Hole

Sir Richard Branson and an all-star team of luminaries and scientists participated in a historic live broadcast from the bottom of the Blue Hole on December 2, 2018, Belize’s most famous dive site. The Discovery Channel used advanced submarines and high-tech radar to create the first 3D map of the Blue Hole.

If you’d like to escape winter’s wrath by escaping to Belize, be sure to stay at the award-winning luxury resort Chabil Mar. Situated just steps from the beach on the beautiful Placencia Peninsula, Chabil Mar has a wide range of vacation packages ideal for weddings, honeymoons, family vacations, fishing enthusiasts, and scuba divers.
