The Placencia Municipal Airport poised to resume flights

Placencia Belize Airport

Belize is a tropical destination that has always been an option for many travelers across the world. And for those who have been yearning to visit the Placencia Placencia, here is some good news for you. The awaited Placencia Municipal Airport is finally reopening. The airport has been undergoing some renovations since September 2020, and the Ministry of Blue Economy and Civil Aviation announced its successful completion this week. Flights resumed on December 1, 2020, and the airport’s inauguration was held yesterday, December 4.

Hon. Andre Perez, the Minister of Blue Economy and Civil Aviation, said that this a unique project that will see the tourism industry flourish in the area. Some of the new features to expect for the newly renovated Placencia Municipal Airport include:

• A runway strip that is 2,775 feet in length and 40 feet in width: It is evenly asphalted with hot mix, making it more durable and safe for everyone. Its load-bearing shoulders on both sides have an average width of 10 feet.
• Improved drainage system
• Proper and additional fencing to enhance security
• Modern lighting and thermoplastic markings system — these were all made per ICAO standards. Its lighting includes the displaced threshold, runway edge, and taxiway lights.
• Finally, there is a shore protection system put in place to improve the appearance and stability of the runway.

With the improved lighting and security, late-night and emergency flights in the peninsula can now be scheduled without a hitch. The new air aerodrome is also a significant improvement to facilitate air traffic to Placencia and southern Belize at large. The Minister says that the people of Placencia and neighboring communities deserve this enhanced infrastructure, and it is a remarkable milestone for the whole country.

Placencia Belize

Placencia is renowned for its popular tourist attractions, including spectacular beaches, gourmet restaurants, and beach bars. It is also an ideal destination for fishing, snorkeling, scuba diving, and sailing experiences. There is something fun for everyone. You can choose numerous accommodation options when you visit the place ranging from hotels, waterfront apartments, or villas, among others.

And if you are not sure of the best place to stay, Chabil Mar could serve you well. It is a luxurious Belize resort that offers a wide variety of vacation packages and adventure tours. The good thing is that it is located on one of the beautiful beaches in Placencia Village.

Now, suppose you have been holding that trip to Placencia for a long time. In that case, this is a perfect time to visit and be among the first people to use the newly renovated airport.

Belize: It’s The Easiest, Breeziest Place On Earth!

What’s the point of taking a vacation if preparing for it ties you up in knots and stresses you out? Some overseas destinations call for learning a new language, applying for visas, shopping for special garments and sitting on planes for so many hours, you wind up jet lagged and exhausted by the time you arrive. Take a deep breath. You’ve got Belize. Not only is it easy to reach this laid-back Caribbean destination but your stay won’t cost you a fortune, either.

Vacation Belize Style

If you’re feeling skeptical and need proof that Belize is the easiest place you’ll ever visit, we offer this proof:
-No French, Spanish or Italian lessons required. Belize’s first language is English.
-Ten hour plane rides? Nope. Belize is just a couple of hours by air from southern states.
-A valid passport is your entry documentation because no visas are needed.
-Special clothing? That’s true. If you haven’t updated your flip-flop and swimsuit wardrobe, consider it.
-Worried that you’ll feel isolated and lonely? Impossible. Belizeans love tourists and you’ll feel welcome.
-In the mood for luxury and variety? Book a stay at a resort that is dedicated to taking care of all of your needs and requests: Chabil Mar Beach Resort.

The Chabil Mar distinction

What separates Chabil Mar from other resorts in Belize? For starters, it’s located on the Placencia peninsula, the area that has become the trendiest area of Belize because it gives visitors easy access to everything Belize has to offer: The world’s best beaches, a scenic lagoon, proximity to the great barrier reef and this finger of land is loaded with things to that are a bike ride or walk away.

But according to plenty of frequent Chabil Mar visitors, it’s just not that easy to leave the place they call paradise once they arrive and get the lay of the land!

From upscale designer accommodations that feature local art, Caribbean décor and touches you expect from a world-class resort, sea-facing villas range up to 2,000 square feet, so forget about being crammed into a tiny room during your stay. Explore nearby Placencia Village or take advantage of sports equipment every guest can borrow (think kayaks and paddleboards). Even dining is elegant, thanks to Chef Daniels whose culinary skills are legendary.

Belize: The Best Way to Escape the Cold and Feel Great Again!

Be at Ease at Chabil Mar Resort Belize

It’s no secret that Covid-19 has not only changed the way people live but “Depression has skyrocketed,” say Time magazine headlines. During spring and summer months, folks around the world found ways to cope that included mastering Zoom, long walks and becoming reacquainted with hobbies that could be enjoyed indoors and away from people.

But with winter on the horizon, not all of these coping mechanisms are possible – reason enough to do something that is both fun and restorative: Take a warm-weather vacation! You’re shaking your head after reading that sentence because getting on airplanes and leaving the safety of your home is probably the last thing on your mind. But once you learn more about how safe and reassuring a trip to Belize can be to your mental health during the long winter months ahead, you’ll want to join the influx of visitors the nation has been welcoming since the airport reopened on October 1, 2020.

Flights to Belize take only a few hours from the U.S. and scientists have proven that highly-filtered airline ventilation systems are not only safe but often more efficient and effective than home air conditioning systems. The Belize airport has set up a processing system that makes certain every tourist is healthy before being admitted to the country and resorts like Chabil Mar, located on the trendy Placencia peninsula, couldn’t re-open for business until they met stringent Belize tourism standards for guest health and safety.

To assure every visitor that vacations in Belize are both relaxing and safe, a Gold Standard Certification Standard was established and Chabil Mar passed all of the stringent requirements that had to be met before the resort could welcome visitors once more: Temperature checks; social distancing protocols; contact-less check in systems and world health organization cleaning and sanitation methods.

Having concluded that airline ventilating systems are safe and that Chabil Mar’s health and hygiene practices are superior, the resort is rewarding winter visitors with a perk rarely enjoyed during the Caribbean rim’s high season: Affordable rates. Feel free to read that a second time to make sure your eyes didn’t deceive you, and then visit the resort’s website to read the details. These packages and lower rates deliver an entire vacation experience at a single, affordable price.

Spend time browsing the rest of the resort’s website to read about luxury digs and spectacular small-group tours that include water sports, Maya ruins, jungles, rainforests, wildlife preserves and so much more. Visit Placencia, the charming town closest to the resort, and give yourself the space and time you need to renew your spirits under the warm Belize sun.

Chabil Mar is literally best the place to come to escape the cold while celebrating an end to 2020. Plan to toast the promise of a bright and healthy year ahead from the comfort of a beach lounge and see how it feels to relax and enjoy feeling stress-free once again. Chabil Mar staff can’t wait to welcome you to this amazing slice of paradise on earth!

USA Today: Belize Among Safest Places to Vacation!

Belize Is A Safe Places to Vacation

“USA Today” recently unveiled a list of countries that will both accept Americans looking to go vacationing and happen to be a safe place to visit during COVID-19.

Each of the countries featured in the article was profiled, including how they handle travel regulations and stipulations regarding testing. In news that should be surprising to no local, Belize was regarded as one of the safest vacation venues on the list. But just because a place is safe to visit, does it have plenty to offer? Keep reading to see just much you have to look forward to coming to Belize.

Before we get into the juicy details, you should know the specifics required to enter. Coming to this country requires you to present a negative COVID-19 test result, either on the day you enter the country or from a test you took while within the airport. You must also submit to a second test, that produces a negative result before you can return home.

Top Attractions To Explore When You Visit

  • ATM Cave. “The Cave of the Crystal Sepulchre” is a cave system that houses several Maya remains, stoneware artifacts and its namesake, the crystallized remains of a sacrifice.
  • The Belize Barrier Reef. This is the second-largest barrier reef on the planet and provides shelter and food for a sweeping array of hundreds of sea creatures. It is also where you can find the next item on this list of Belize’s best hits. This area is also a great spot if you fancy any sort of aquatic activity, be it fishing or diving.
  • The Great Blue Hole. This underwater sinkhole is attached to the Belize Barrier Reef and deep enough to produce a gorgeous disparity in color when viewed from above. Much like the Belize Barrier Reef, this place is home to a large variety of sealife, including several species of coral that you can freely observe by diving.
  • Lubantuum and Nim Li Punit. These ruins, in the south of the country, were the most prominent centers of influence and population for the ancient Maya.

Belize Among Safest Places to Vacation

Note that another stipulation of being able to visit Belize is booking your stay with a COVID-19 safe, Gold standard hotel or resort. To that end, please consider staying at Chabil Mar.

Chabil Mar is an award-winning resort in Placencia, Belize, that can cover almost every need for every guest.
